About Me

Barbara Alexander McKinney recognized real estate as her first love in 1981 and the rest is history.  In 1999 Howard Hanna Premier Properties by Barbara Alexander, LLC became a branchise office of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services.  Today this full service real estate agency serves North Central West Virginia and Pennsylvania with a staff of over 50 skilled Realtors.  Howard Hanna Premier Properties by Barbara Alexander, LLC consistently ranks as the top real estate firm in our region in listing and sales for over 20 years.

As Broker/Owner,  Barbara contributes to her profession through involvement in numerous committees, associations and boards.  Named as "Realtor of the Year" by her peers, Barbara has gone on to serve as President of the West Virginia Association of Realtors and was appointed Regional Vice President of Region 3 of the National Association of Realtors.

Recognized for her accomplishments in West Virginia Magazine as one of West Virginia's Top Young Executives, she has served on many boards, Your Community Foundation,  Charter Member of the Monongahela Valley Bank, President for the Rosenbaum Family House and currently Chair of the WV Medicine Cancer Institute Leadership Council.

Barbara was born and raised in Morgantown, WV, with her six brothers and sisters,  and is the daughter of John and Cecilia Alexander.  She and her husband Carlton McKinney, Jr. were named Power Couples of North Central West Virginia.  They live in Bruceton Mills, WV and Duck Key, FL with their Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Rita and their Tabby rescue, Daniels.
